True to its guiding philosophy “Connecting All,” INTERNATIONAL MEDIA GUILD (IMG) hosted a meaningful socio-cultural welfare programme on 6 February at Jibanananda Sabhaghar, Nandan Campus, Kolkata. The evening unfolded as a confluence of social service, health awareness, literature, and cultural expression, drawing participation from eminent personalities across professions.

Led by social influencer and IMG Founder-Chairperson Asish Basak, the organization honoured outstanding contributors to society with the UTKARSHA SAMMAN. The recipients included former MLA Adv. Dr. Sourav Chakraborty, writers Banani Sikdar, Dr. S. Yasmin, Prof. Dr. Pratapranjan Hazra, holistic healer Dr. Suresh Agarwal, and noted reciter Sikha Hazra, acknowledging their dedication and impact in their respective fields.

Health awareness formed a significant part of the programme. Eminent cardiologist Dr. Navanil Biswas addressed the gathering, highlighting the crucial role of healthy eating habits, regular physical activity, and timely medical check-ups in maintaining heart health. The session was coordinated by Indrani Ghosh, Marketing Manager of Techno India DAMA Hospital, Kolkata.

The event also marked the unveiling of the poster for “TORI,” an upcoming socio-cultural welfare programme to be held on 21 February at Hazra Sujata Sadan. The unveiling was jointly done by Saraswati Bhandar and URJAA, signaling continued collaboration for community-centric initiatives.

A special moment of the evening was the re-launch of the popular book “Story of My Life – Part 1” by Chennai-based philanthropist Dr. Barbara Thyab Ali, which took place in the presence of distinguished guests.

The programme was attended by senior members of the Rotary Club of Kasba and Lions Club of Kolkata Magnates, including Prof. Dr. Parthasarathi Chakraborty, Sovan Chakraborty, Prof. Dr. Seema Singh, Mahesh Burman, Adv. Basu Deo Agarwal, Dr. Vivekananda Chakraborty, poets Prajna Parijat and Sanchita Das, and former DCP Manoj Das, whose presence added stature to the occasion.

Cultural performances by talented reciters enriched the evening, reflecting IMG’s commitment to nurturing art and culture alongside social responsibility.

Concluding the programme, Asish Basak called upon citizens to engage in constructive social work and join INTERNATIONAL MEDIA GUILD’s growing movement aimed at unity, awareness, and positive change—truly embodying the essence of “Connecting All.”
