Marking Republic Day with a strong commitment to social welfare, the Mahendra Roy Lane Business Owners Association organized a free eye and health check-up camp on Monday, January 26. The camp was held at the Association’s office on Mahendra Roy Lane in collaboration with ASG Eye Hospital and Fortis Hospital.
The initiative offered free general health check-ups, including eye examinations conducted with modern computerized technology. Local residents and business owners availed themselves of services such as vision testing, diagnosis of common eye ailments, and basic medical consultation under the supervision of specialist doctors.
In addition to the medical camp, the Association organized a blanket distribution drive for cold-stricken and underprivileged individuals, underscoring its message of compassion and social responsibility.
Several dignitaries and community leaders were present at the event, including Zakir Hossain Mallick, President of the Mahendra Roy Lane Business Owners Association; Secretary Syed Abdul Shakir; Treasurer Naushad Ahmed; Assistant Secretary Shamim Akhtar; Vice President Mosharraf Hossain; and Assistant Treasurer Irfan Ahmed. Also in attendance were Syed Faisal, Secretary of the West Bengal Minority Cell; Ehteshamul Haque Siddiqui, Organizing Secretary of the WBTMCC Minority Cell; Chairman Farid Khan; State President of BSBM Professor Wajhul Haque; Entally MLA Shri Swarna Kamal Saha; Councillor Smt. Jolly Bose (Ward 59, KMC); and Ward President Robin Bose (TMC).
The Association announced that similar public welfare programs would be organized regularly in the future to ensure easier access to essential health services for the common people. The event concluded successfully with active participation and cooperation from local residents.
