On 11th May, Sunday morning, 35 ROTARY Clubs in Kolkata organized a CAR & BIKE RALLY to promote Awareness of Thalassemia and to commemorate World Thalassemia Week.
The Host Clubs were ROTARY EAST CALCUTTA and ROTARY KAKURGACHI.
About 50 Cars & Bikes took part in a rally covering 6.3 Km around Fulbagan.
Each Vehicle participant received a Cap, Certificate and Medal, along with water & refreshment.
The Starting & Ending venue was East Calcutta Rotary Club’s Rotary Bhawan, 5 & 6 Hem Chandra Naskar Road, near Beleghata CIT MORE Crossing.
ROTARY CLUB OF KASBA (associate partner of rally) presented 4 cars and 2 bikes, supported by Rituparna Sen, Pranati Saha, Jayanta Chowdhury, Indrani Sarkar, Sandip Hazra and Sovan Chakraborty.
Poets Arindam Deb and Jharna Bhattacharjee composed short poems on Thalassemia, which were recited by Asish Basak, Managing Trustee of ROTARY Club Of KASBA, during a brief cultural collage presented by HELLO KOLKATA.
