Kolkata witnessed a significant gathering of healthcare professionals as AYUSH Con 2025, organized by the West Bengal AYUSH Doctors’ Welfare Association (WBADWA), took place at the seminar hall of the National Medical College. The conference drew an impressive participation of 450 medical practitioners from across India as well as overseas.
The seminar was formally inaugurated by Dr. Indranil Biswas, Principal of Calcutta Medical College, who highlighted the growing importance of the Unani system of medicine in addressing modern healthcare challenges. He stressed the need for innovation, structured research, and institutional support to strengthen the Unani discipline.

Speakers emphasized that to keep pace with advancements in the medical world, it is essential to modernize Unani practices and introduce them more widely through additional medical colleges and expanded academic recognition.
The conference concluded with a collective resolve to enhance the visibility, credibility, and academic infrastructure of Unani medicine, marking AYUSH Con 2025 as a landmark event for the sector.
