Three Friends from Mangalkot Set an Example of Honesty Despite Finding Lakhs of Taka

In a world often overshadowed by stories of greed and dishonesty, three friends from Bebucha village in Mangalkot, East Burdwan district, have set a remarkable example of integrity. Their actions have become a beacon of hope, proving that honesty still thrives in society.

At the end of the week, Zahir Hossain Mondal, Raja Mondal, and Ahit Mallick found a bag containing one lakh taka in the Balgona market in Bhatar. Instead of succumbing to temptation, the trio decided to do the right thing. They immediately took the money to Mangalkot police station and handed it over to the IC, Madhusudan Ghosh. By Friday night, the money was safely returned to its rightful owner, Sheikh Rafiqul Alam, a stationery shop owner from Belgram, Mangalkot.

Sheikh Rafiqul Alam had inadvertently left the bag of money in the market after closing his shop on Thursday evening. When he discovered the loss on Friday morning, he was devastated and searched frantically but to no avail. However, his despair turned to relief when he learned about the three friends’ honesty. After contacting them and providing the necessary proof, he was reunited with his lost money at the police station.

Expressing his gratitude, Rafiqul Alam said, “I never expected to get the money back. Their honesty has restored my faith in humanity.”

Mangalkot Police Station IC Madhusudan Ghosh lauded the three friends for their exemplary behavior. “In a time when dishonesty often overshadows good deeds, these young men have proved that there are still honest individuals in our society,” he said.

The trio, humble in their actions, shared that they were simply fulfilling their duty. “We are mentally satisfied that the money reached its rightful owner,” they said.

Their noble deed has not only earned them praise from the local community but also serves as an inspiration for others to uphold honesty and integrity in their lives.
