The much-awaited ‘Knowledge City Poush Mela 2026’ is being held from January 1 to January 5 at the Knowledge City campus, Rajarhat, in South 24 Parganas. Organized in the spirit and tradition of the iconic Shantiniketan Poush Mela, the festival has been a cherished annual cultural event for the past 11 years.
The grand cultural fair is led by Dr. Abdur Rob, Founder of the Knowledge City Education Hub, whose visionary leadership has transformed the campus into a vibrant center of education and culture. True to its ethos, the Poush Mela welcomes people from all walks of life, embracing inclusivity beyond age, gender, or social background.
The inaugural ceremony on the morning of January 1 was graced by several eminent personalities, including M. Nurul Islam, Founder of Al Ameen Mission, along with Dr. Abdur Rob and other distinguished guests, adding prestige to the occasion.
One of the major highlights of the festival is its rich cultural showcase. Around 270 talented cultural groups are performing live over the five-day event, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, across five beautifully designed open-air stages set up throughout the Knowledge City campus on Diamond Harbour Road.
Knowledge City is home to nine educational institutions founded by Dr. Abdur Rob, including Yeaqub Ali B.Ed. College, Delhi Public High School, Mumtaz Begum Pharmacy College, the Nursing College, and several others. The Poush Mela not only celebrates art and culture but also reflects the institution’s commitment to holistic education and community engagement.
