This Sunday Kolkata will witness an intense competition among 100 motoring enthusiasts as they compete to win the top honours in one of the biggest motoring events of India. Yes… it is the ‘IndianOil WHEELS 20th Car Treasure Hunt 2024’ – a unique motoring chase designed for the motorists of Kolkata who will battle for supremacy. This event is being organised by Kolkata on Wheels in collaboration with IndianOil Corporation Limited and Saini Toyota.
At the onset let me give you a brief about the “Car Treasure Hunt” concept.
Around 100 teams, each team consisting of a minimum 2 adults and maximum 4 adults will be participating in their own four wheelers. At the flag off/ starting point, each team will be given a clue sheet consisting of different riddles, and on cracking the riddles, the team will reach a destination where their arrival at the correct spot will be endorsed by the marshalls on their track card.
Let me share a random example for your easy understanding –
Riddle: Sip your “kavah” sitting at the “highest point” situated beside the “Ozone” layer while you view an architectural marvel of 60 m dia circular ring situated 25 m above sea level with two catenary arches at a road intersection joined at the top.
Answer/ Destination: Fairfield by Marriott.
In addition to the aforementioned, this year we have added a twist to the event with an element of TSD format rallying, multiple choice Q&A on automobiles & motorsports and collecting scavenger items to make it more challenging and fun. On completion of the event, teams will be evaluated on the basis of predetermined points and accordingly the Winner and Runners Up will be decided.
Every year during the month of December, Kolkata on WHEELS – a city centric motoring magazine organises this Car Treasure Hunt for the motorists of the city which has now become hugely popular and has been an annual event in the city’s winter calendar.
